So we went to Junion (photo studio) to take pictures of our dance teams. When it came to our turn, the first thing we had to do was taking individual picture. So then it was my turn. The photographer was a guy, I think he’s about 40-45 years old, he’s really energetic.
ANYWAY, after he took the group picture, he called me and he goes “Hey you! You’re foreigner, right?” and I’m like “Oh my gosh did I do something wrong….” So I said, “Yes…why?” then he said “Come here” as he grabbed my shoulders, turned me around and KICKED MY FREAKIN BUTT. And I was like, “Did you seriously just do that??” and he just laughed so I said “Oh is that an American thing or something? Nice to meet you.” then I laughed as everybody else laughed.
Until now, I dont even know why he would kick my butt.
That was the weirdest thing EVER! lmAo

- After talking about cute butt yesterday, somehow somebody brought that up today in choir. really. Crystal and I just got done talking about it, and she talked to Sarah. Then..
- Sarah : Nabila! You like your pretty boy's butt?! (FYI, "pretty boy" is what I call my crush at school, i know I'm such a dork.)
- Me : No! OMG Crystal what did you tell her? I never said that! Liaaarrr!
- Crystal : I didnt tell her nothing!
- Me : Oh shut the..f..front door!
- Crystal was just laughing so hard.
- Sarah : It's okay if you like his butt though! That's one of the the things that girls see.
- Me : Wow hold on lady! First of all, I've never looked at his butt! Second of all, WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT GIRLS SEE?! (thinking this must be another weird culture again)
- Crystal : Haha yeah! Guys look at girls' boobs, and we look at their butts.
- Me : Haha nice one Crystal. You're kidding.
- Crystal : No! I'm being serious. Cause there is nothing else we can look at.
- Me : How awkward is that! looking at a guy's butt.. Oh my gosh.
- Afterwards, I just cant get this "cute butt topic" out of my mind. Until now, honestly. Oh well, GUYS! you better have a cute butt.

- Julie Edwards and I were working on our history project in the library, we had to record our voice because we were making a movie kinda thing where we put bunch of pictures together, record voice and etc. Anyway, we were recording voice, and then it was my turn. (Hint, I'm an exchange student, I dont speak English)
- Julie : Okay, are you ready?
- Me : Just give me a sec, I'm nervoussssss
- Julie : You're gonna be fine don't worry!
- Me : Yeah but my nose is stuffed up, I feel horrible, I cant talk.
- Julie : I know right, mine too.
- Me : Well,I think I'm ready now.
- Julie : Alright, here we go..
- Me : Oh wait! Don't record it! I gotta BLURP first!
- Julie : BLURP?!?!?!? You mean BURP ?!!?
- Me : Oh yeah that's what I mean...
- And it just cracked her up. She spent the next 5 minutes laughing and rolling on the floor. Not literally though. And she went to tell everyone we met in the hall after school when we were walking to her locker.

- Me : OK, we're going to meditate now. Let's draw our attention to our breath and focus on the mantra. Om Namah Shivaya. Om Namah Shiv ---
- Mind : I can help you out with this, you know!
- Me: OK,good, because I need your help. Let's go. Om Namah Shivaya. Om Namah Shiv--
- Mind : I can help you think of nice meditative images. Like - hey, here's a good one. Imagine you are a temple. A temple on an island! And the island is in the ocean!
- Me : Oh, that IS nice imagine.
- Mind : Thanks. I though of it myself.
- Me : But what ocean are we picturing here?
- Mind : The Mediterranean. Imagine you're one of those Greek islands with an old Greek temple on it. No, never mind, that's too tourisity. You know what? Forget the ocean. Oceans are too dangerous. Here's a better idea -- imagine you're an island in a LAKE instead.
- Me : Can we meditate now, please? Om Namah Shiv--
- Mind : Yes! Definitely! But try not to picture that the lake is covered with...what are those things called --
- Me : Jet Skis?
- Mind : Yes! Jet Skis! Those things consume so much fuel! And that's why we're going to skip the image of an island on a lake or an ocean, because that's obviously not working. So let's image that you're and island in....a river!
- Me : OH, you mean like Bannerman Island, in the Hudson RIver?
- Mind : YES! Exactly! Perfect. Therefore, in conclusion, let's meditate on this image -- envision that you are an island in a river. All the thoughts that float by as you're meditating, these are just the river's natural currents and you can ignore them because you are an island.
- Me : Well, I thought you said I was a temple.
- Mind : That's right, sorry. You're a temple ON an island. In fact, you are both the temple AND the island.
- Me : Am i also the river?
- Mind : No, the river is just the thoughts.
- Me : STOP! Please stop! YOU'RE MAKING ME CRAZY!!
- Mind (wounded) : Sorry, i was only trying to help.
- Me : Om Namah Shivaya....Om Namah Shivaya.....Om Namah Shivaya.....
- Here is a promising eight-second pause in thoughts. But then ---
- Mind : Are you mad at me now?
- (this is one of my favorite parts in the book)
